Thornton Fractional South senior Anissa Coffey is embracing leadership and composure as she looks to guide the Red Wolves through the postseason.
“I’ve been bowling for fun my whole life,” Coffey said. “My dad was in leagues, and just being around it was really fun,” said Coffey, Senior Bowler. “Fear of rejection is very there,” Coffey said. “I tend to get impatient and irritated easily, so my goal is to keep a level head. If I start getting off my rocker, everyone is,” she said. “I like to help everyone feel safe.”
According to Coffey, she has been surrounded by bowling for most of her life, developing a love for the sport through family and experience. She officially joined the high school team during her junior year and quickly became a steady presence in the lineup. This season, her focus has shifted toward leadership and maintaining emotional balance during competition.
As one of the team’s seniors, Coffey understands the influence her mindset has on others. Recently, she reached a personal milestone by bowling her highest series of 305 in a match against Thornton Fractional North. The performance reflected her growth and confidence as she aims to advance as far as possible in tournaments and postseason competition.
