Thornton Fractional South’s girls badminton team commenced its 2025 season with a decisive 15-0 victory against district rival TF North on March 27.
According to the team’s performance, the Red Wolves demonstrated depth and determination, with every player securing a win in their respective matchups. Junior Gianna Murabito delivered an impressive performance in both singles and doubles. Paired with senior Jessica Arreola in doubles, the duo limited their opponents to no more than three points per match.
Murabito also excelled in her singles match, displaying precision and control that set the tone for the team’s clean sweep. “I’m just proud of the effort,” TF South head coach said following the match. “It’s a great way to open the season, especially with everyone contributing.”
The victory gives TF South a 1-0 start as they prepare to face Shepard in non-conference play. With early momentum and standout performances from key players, the team aims to build on its success as the season progresses.
TF South is focused on developing consistency and teamwork as they navigate a competitive schedule ahead. The Red Wolves are aspiring to return to postseason contention after a rebuilding year in 2024.
