Longtime head coach Nick Jelcic emphasizes improvement, personal bests, and consistency as the focus for Stagg’s bowling team as the season progresses.
“I think the season’s going pretty good,” Jelcic said. “We’ve had a lot of guys hit their personal bests, which is great,” said Jelcic, Head Coach for Stagg Chargers (2025-2026). “We’ll have two guys bowl outstanding and then others trying to catch up,” he said. “It’s about working together and being consistent at the same time. A lot of good things are happening,” he said. “We’re getting better as the season goes on. We have our conference tournament coming up and we’re hosting it,” he said. “We shoot very well at home.”
According to Amos Alonzo Stagg boys bowling head coach Nick Jelcic, his team is trending positively as the season reaches its midpoint. He points to individual growth and steady development across the lineup as key factors in their progress.
Jelcic, now in his 23rd year coaching at Stagg, identifies the biggest challenge as putting together complete matches as a unit. Despite these challenges, he notes that the team has shown progress in tournament settings and continues to improve.
Looking ahead, Jelcic expresses optimism about upcoming competitions, particularly with postseason play approaching. With familiarity, experience, and confidence building within the team, he believes Stagg is well-positioned to finish the season strong.
