As the T.F. South girls’ soccer team prepares for the upcoming season, head coach Aaron Zambrano is concentrating on player development, team chemistry, and building on last year’s achievements.
Zambrano has 12 years of experience coaching high school girls’ soccer and also works in college women’s soccer. He is committed to advancing the sport.
“My passion for coaching comes from my love for the game,” Zambrano said. “I’ve been lucky to see the growth of women’s sports and want to continue contributing to that development.” With women’s sports gaining more recognition, he is determined to provide opportunities for young athletes to succeed.
According to Zambrano, he is eager to work with a new group of players and guide them through the challenges of the season. “Every season brings new challenges, and this year is no different,” he said. “I’m excited to help the younger players grow, watching them progress both individually and as a team.” After a strong first season in which T.F. South lost just one conference game, Zambrano aims for even more success. “This year, I’m focused on winning more conference games and hopefully bringing back a conference championship,” he said.
Zambrano identified Yanetzi Alba as a key player this season due to her leadership, academic success, and defensive strength. Building team chemistry is also a priority for him. He plans bonding activities such as team breakfasts and movie outings to create lasting connections. “The biggest lesson I teach is to have fun,” Zambrano said. “If you’re enjoying what you’re doing, the rest will follow. Soccer should be a passion, not just a job.”
