Thornton Fractional South dropped its fifth game since mid‑January, falling 54–41 to Lemont.
According to the game statistics, Thornton Fractional South relied on efficient inside scoring and timely defense, finishing with 41 points on a 42% shooting percentage. The team primarily focused on scoring in the paint, making 17 of their 36 two-point attempts and securing 20 total rebounds. Ball movement was also a factor, as they recorded eight assists and five steals to create additional opportunities. Despite limited success from beyond the arc, the team maintained efficiency by targeting high-percentage shots and executing well around the rim.
Orville Cross Jr. led Thornton Fractional South with a strong interior performance, scoring 14 points on an impressive 7-of-10 shooting while collecting six rebounds. He consistently finished through contact and anchored the team’s efforts in the paint on both ends of the floor. Amari Dukes contributed significantly with 12 points on 6-of-9 shooting, adding three rebounds, three assists, two steals, and a block in a well-rounded performance. Despite these strong offensive contributions from Cross and Dukes, who together accounted for more than half of the team’s points through efficient play, Thornton Fractional South was unable to overcome Lemont.
The next challenge for T.F. South is hosting T.F. North in a conference matchup scheduled for Tuesday, February 10 at 5 p.m. The last encounter between these teams occurred on February 11, 2025, when North narrowly defeated South with a score of 56–54.
