With a new track and field season approaching, T.F. South head coach Elissa Belli is eager to lead a team brimming with young talent. A former T.F. South athlete herself, Belli brings experience, passion, and a commitment to developing the next generation of competitors.

“I ran track at T.F. South in high school and then went on to compete in college,” Belli said. “It’s something I’ve loved since I was younger, and I enjoy teaching the next generation of athletes.” According to Belli, the energy and enthusiasm of her athletes fuel her passion for coaching. “We have a lot of young talent, and I’m excited to see how they develop,” she said. “The future is bright, and it’s exciting to have fresh faces bringing new energy to the team.”

Freshman Jordyn Clark is expected to make a significant impact in the long jump and sprints. “Jordyn has a lot of potential, and we expect big things from her,” Belli said. Senior Nyrobi Mree, a state qualifier in the 400-meter dash, and sophomore Jamyay White are also poised to contribute significantly.

T.F. South finished second in the conference last year, narrowly missing the title. “This year, we’ll focus on continuing to develop our young athletes and improving our relays,” Belli said. “I’m hopeful we can push for even greater success.” She credits her coaching staff for keeping her motivated. “There are six of us, and we all have a shared passion for helping these athletes grow,” she said. “The enthusiasm from both the athletes and coaches is what keeps me going.”

Belli also prioritizes team chemistry by encouraging athletes to support each other on and off the track. “That sense of camaraderie is key to our success,” she said. With a dedicated staff and a determined group of athletes, Belli believes T.F. South is going to have a great season.
