T.F. South’s girls track and field team demonstrated a strong performance during their home meet on April 15, securing victories against Oak Lawn and Oak Forest in a tri-meet competition.

Under the leadership of head coach Elissa Belli, the Red Wolves outscored Oak Lawn 62-30 and Oak Forest 62-15 in their first home event of the season.

According to Belli, several standout performances contributed to T.F. South’s success. Jordyn Clark claimed first place in both the long jump and 200-meter dash. Yanitzia Luna secured a victory in the 3200-meter run, while Aniston Coates topped the field in the triple jump. Trinity Ali took first in the shot put, and Ava Collins earned the top spot in the high jump.

“We were glad to finally get a home meet in where all of our athletes could participate,” Belli said. “Despite the wind, we had some great performances and are looking forward to our next competition.”

The meet provided an important opportunity for the entire team to compete and build momentum as they approach the latter half of the season. T.F. South’s next challenge will be at the Yorkville Co-Ed Invite, scheduled for April 17.
