Thornton Fractional South junior Miles Parker is entering the bowling season with renewed focus following a strong yet incomplete campaign last year. The Red Wolves are adjusting to changes in their lineup and setting new goals for the upcoming competitions.
“Last year we had a really good season. I think we won most of our matches and only lost two,” Parker said. “We had the twins, and now they’re not here anymore, so it’s a lot different,” said Parker, Junior Bowler. “I tell them it’s the easy spares. Pick up the easy spares,” he said. That was really heartbreaking,” Parker said. “I call this year my Getback Tour. He’s like Scottie Pippen,” Parker said. “He helps others and works on himself.”
According to Parker, with a mix of returning teammates and new roles to fill, he has emphasized consistency as a team priority. He began bowling at age 9 and earned a varsity role early in his high school career, initially making junior varsity as a freshman before advancing. This season, Parker has shown improvement after narrowly missing the state tournament by 16 pins last year.
Parker said that after taking a summer break to reset, he returned in September with a clearer mindset. He also credited teammate Malik Green for his leadership and support.
