Thornton Fractional South High School’s girls badminton team delivered a strong performance, securing second place at the East Aurora Invitational on April 5.
According to the event’s results, the Red Wolves competed against teams from East Aurora, Plainfield South, Vernon Hills, and Elk Grove. The athletes medaled in six of the seven events they entered. Leading the way for T.F. South were Gianna Murabito and Jessica Arreola, who claimed first place in the third doubles division. Their victory was a highlight in a day filled with standout efforts from the Red Wolves squad.
“They did amazing and I’m proud,” said Coach Dixon. “It was great to see our hard work pay off on the court.” Dixon noted that the team’s consistent showing across events contributed to their impressive second-place overall finish. The performance underscores a promising season for the Red Wolves as they continue to build momentum heading into future competitions.
With a strong showing at a competitive tournament, the T.F. South girls badminton team is making a statement this spring. The Red Wolves return to action Tuesday, April 8, looking to build on their recent success.
