Thornton Fractional South’s boys wrestling team faced a challenging slate, dropping a pair of duals while earning several notable individual performances against quality competition.
According to the event details, the Red Wolves competed on January 15 in back-to-back duals against Bremen and Evergreen Park. Both matches took place during a double-dual event that tested the lineup’s depth and resilience. TF South fell 36-22 to Bremen in the opening dual. Jayden Derrick delivered a strong effort at 215 pounds, earning a major decision to account for key team points. Additional wins came by way of forfeits, as Elijah Bailey (165), Titus Woodring (175), and Reggie Miller (190) were each awarded victories, helping the Red Wolves stay competitive throughout the matchup.
In the second dual, TF South was defeated 63-18 by Evergreen Park. However, the Red Wolves continued to show determination in several weight classes. Tariq Banks achieved a pin at 285 pounds, while Woodring added another fall at 175. Miller also recorded a pin at 190, finishing a solid day on the mat with two wins across the two duals.
Despite the team results, TF South produced multiple victories by fall and decision, demonstrating strength across middle and upper weights. The experience gained against strong opponents provided valuable mat time as TF South continues to prepare for the remainder of the season and an upcoming postseason push.
