Thornton Fractional South put up a gritty fight in their Jan. 20 South Suburban Conference trip to Evergreen Park, but the Red Wolves couldn’t quite close it out, falling 60–53.
According to reports, the Red Wolves out-rebounded the Mustangs 38 to 26, but couldn’t convert that edge into a win. They struggled at the free-throw line, shooting just 23 percent compared to Evergreen Park’s 74 percent. Despite forcing 15 turnovers and keeping the game close with stretches of strong defense, TF South’s cold shooting from the field and beyond the arc proved costly. For the Red Wolves, the loss was a tough setback in conference play, but their competitive effort underscored the team’s determination to contend in the SSC Blue Division. The Red Wolves dropped to 7–12 overall and 3–4 in South Suburban Blue play following their loss to Evergreen Park.
