As TF South softball prepares for a new season, head coach David Klupchak is eager to lead the team and help develop a new generation of athletes. With a background in baseball coaching and a lifelong love for the game, Klupchak is embracing the challenge of guiding the program forward.
According to Klupchak, after stepping away from coaching for a few years following his marriage, he has returned with renewed passion. He is particularly excited about the dedication his players have shown during the offseason and looks forward to seeing their growth throughout the season.
“This is a great group of athletes,” Klupchak said. “The consistency and effort they’ve shown early on make me confident in what we can achieve.”
The team is entering a transition year after graduating five seniors, leaving them with a younger roster. Only two seniors return this season, meaning underclassmen will need to step up and fill key roles.
Several players are expected to make a big impact, including senior catcher Morgan Kleidon, a four-year varsity player who brings leadership behind the plate. Sophomore third baseman Camila Rosas has been developing her skills over the past three years, while junior Izzy Sphere will play a dual role as both a pitcher and shortstop in her second varsity season.
Klupchak’s coaching philosophy centers on teaching athletes to compete with heart while understanding the fundamentals of the game. He encourages players to give their best effort in every situation and to play smarter by deeply understanding the rules.
To strengthen team chemistry, Klupchak has introduced Friday morning team-building activities at 6 a.m. These sessions focus on teamwork, communication, and friendly competition, helping players build trust both on and off the field.
With a mix of youth and experience, Klupchak is eager to see how his team develops throughout the season.
