Thornton Fractional South High School reported that the Thornton Fractional South RedWolves track and field teams delivered a commanding performance at the 2025 Red Wolf Co-Ed Invitational on April 25th.
According to the school, led by head coaches Steve Nelson for the boys’ team and Elissa Belli for the girls’, the RedWolves continued their strong season with dominant wins. The boys earned 272 points, significantly ahead of runner-up Perspectives with 105 points, while the girls tallied 202 points, surpassing Agricultural Science’s 130 points.
In the 4×800 relay, both squads claimed first place, with the boys clocking in at 10:09.13 and the girls at 12:37.39. Sophomore Dmetria Oneal attributed their success to teamwork, saying, “We helped each other win. I just had to push through.”
Sprinter Yanitzia Luna won the 3×200 event with a time of 15:25.93 and highlighted training with the boys as a factor in her improvement. Coach Belli praised Luna and other underclassmen, stating, “They ran very well, and I’m proud of them.”
Top finishes for the boys included Antwon Love in the 800 meters (2:24), David Nkwogu in both the 110 hurdles (16.47) and high jump (1.75m), and Kevin Rincon in shot put (14.95m).
