The Bremen Running Red Wolves faced challenging conditions at the 2025 South Suburban Conference Blue Meet on Saturday, October 18, 2025. The team finished third in the Junior Varsity race and fourth in the Varsity competition.
According to event organizers, the meet was hosted by Bremen and took place at Midlothian Meadows. The runners contended with unusually warm weather throughout the day.
Despite being short of five competitors, the Red Wolves delivered a commendable performance with only 12 participants. Sophomore Alonzo Magana led the Junior Varsity squad by claiming the overall JV title with a time of 17:56, earning a medal. His teammates Evan Krueger (15th), Malik Harb (18th), John Capers (22nd), and Gavin Stubbs (23rd) contributed to Bremen’s strong team score. On the Varsity side, junior Ricky Budlove achieved an eighth-place finish in 17:06, earning all-conference honors. John Carson (17th), Jayden Ruiz (20th), and Princeton Harb (21st) also placed in the top half of the field to secure the team’s fourth-place finish.
The Red Wolves are set to compete next in the Illinois High School Association (IHSA) Class 3A Regional at The Oaks in Mokena on Saturday, October 25, 2025. This event is hosted by Lincoln-Way Central and will commence with the girls’ race at 10 a.m., followed by the boys’ race at 11 a.m.
