T.F. South High School faced a challenging match against Carl Sandburg High School, resulting in a 3-0 defeat during a varsity boys soccer game on Wednesday at T.F. South in Calumet City, Illinois.
According to the match details, the Red Wolves hosted this nonconference game on October 22, 2025, at 4:30 p.m., with significant support from their home crowd despite the cool and breezy weather conditions.
T.F. South initially controlled possession and created several scoring opportunities. However, Carl Sandburg managed to capitalize on a counterattack to secure a lead in the first half. Senior captain Miguel Ramos led the defensive efforts for T.F. South, while goalkeeper Julian Torres made seven saves, including two diving stops that kept the game competitive. Sophomore forward Alex Martinez nearly scored for T.F. South late in the game, but his free kick hit the crossbar in the closing minutes.
Looking ahead, T.F. South is scheduled to travel to Thornwood on Friday at 5 p.m., before returning home on Tuesday to face Oak Lawn at 4:30 p.m. Meanwhile, Carl Sandburg will host Lincoln-Way East on Saturday at 3 p.m.
