T.F. South boys basketball looks to build early-season momentum behind strong senior depth

0Comments

T.F. South High School began its basketball season with a focus on energy and experience, under the guidance of head coach Todd Gillespie. The team, known as the Red Wolves, is comprised largely of veteran players, which Gillespie hopes will benefit them in their early schedule.

The team’s fifth game of the season was scheduled for December 5 at home against Shepard High School. This matchup was seen as an opportunity to evaluate player rotations, enhance execution, and build chemistry within a lineup led by seniors.

According to Gillespie, T.F. South’s strength lies in its experienced upperclassmen who provide size, athleticism, and versatility across multiple positions. The senior players include David Nkwogu (6’2″, small forward), Nick Ford (6’0″, point guard), Rashad Peeples (6’2″, shooting guard), Camarion Cooper (6’6″, center), Axcel Mbamdeu (6’1″, small forward), Jayden Nash (5’7″, point guard), Kenan Maxey (6’0″, small forward), Eion Ikner (6’6″, small forward), Jaden Dudley (6’0″, shooting guard), Cameron Miles-Rice (6’0″, shooting guard) and Coby Davis (5’10”, shooting guard). Their leadership and experience are expected to set the tone for defensive communication, ball movement, and the overall pace that the Red Wolves aim to maintain.

Gillespie emphasizes improvement through each game by focusing on consistency, discipline, and developing stronger cohesion as conference play approaches.

Looking ahead, T.F. South is set to travel to Argo High School on December 9 for a 6:30 p.m. matchup. This game presents another opportunity for the Red Wolves to build rhythm and strengthen their early-season identity.
