T.F. South boys wrestling is progressing under head coach Andre Richmond as the Red Wolves prepare for a significant stretch of competition.
The team’s upcoming dual on December 5 will take place at Eisenhower High School, where T.F. South is scheduled to face Tinley Park Eisenhower in an away matchup. This event will provide valuable live mat time before the winter schedule intensifies. While the Red Wolves have already begun their season, this dual serves as one of their first major opportunities to test technique, pacing, and match strategy in a focused dual-meet environment.
According to Richmond, he and his staff have emphasized clean finishes, strong hand control, and disciplined positioning throughout early practices and initial competitions. The coaching approach has centered on sharpening fundamentals, ensuring wrestlers stay composed in ties, work efficiently from neutral positions, and maintain pressure in all three periods. With film study and drilling shaping their preparation, the Red Wolves have used the opening weeks to establish the tempo and identity they want to carry through the season.
Up next: T.F. South will travel to Hinsdale South on December 6 for the Hinsdale South Invitational, beginning at 9:00 a.m., offering a full-day tournament setting where the team can gain extended live repetitions against a diverse field.
