The Thornton Fractional South Red Wolves emerged victorious against the Richards Bulldogs with a 2-1 win in a closely contested South Suburban Conference volleyball match held in Lansing, Illinois.
The match occurred on October 7, 2025, at Thornton Fractional South High School. The Red Wolves, holding a record of 25-26, successfully defended their home court.
Senior Earehc’ Hill led the offensive efforts for T.F. South with 14 kills and a .238 hitting percentage. Sophomore Layla Smith contributed seven kills and 12 digs. Junior Candace Irvin played a crucial role by providing 23 assists and two blocks, maintaining composure through momentum shifts. Smith also excelled in serving, achieving seven aces and leading the team with 18 service points. The defensive effort was solid as well, with Smith and Hill each recording nine digs, contributing to the team’s total of 43.
Thornton Fractional South is set to face Eisenhower on Thursday, October 10, at 6:30 p.m. in another significant conference matchup. Meanwhile, Richards will host Argo on the same evening at 6 p.m. In their previous encounter, Richards narrowly defeated T.F. South 2-1; however, this time the Red Wolves demonstrated resilience to secure victory.
