Thornton Fractional South delivered a dominant performance Monday, defeating Hillcrest 17-4 in a non conference softball matchup.
Head coach Dave Klupchak’s squad came out strong offensively, piling up runs early and never looking back. Jasmine Cook sparked the attack with two hits and three runs scored. Camilla Rosas went 2-for-3, including a double, while Morgan Kleidon also finished 2-for-3 and crossed the plate twice.
On the mound, Izzy Sprehe led the way for the Rebels. The right-hander tossed five innings, striking out six and allowing just one earned run. Her command helped shut down any potential rallies by the Hillcrest offense.
“It was a great all-around team win,” Klupchak said. “The girls stayed aggressive at the plate and played solid defense behind Izzy. We’re starting to hit our stride.”
The win improves T.F. South’s momentum as they prepare for a quick turnaround. The Rebels will be back in action Tuesday with a matchup against Joliet Central, looking to continue their offensive surge and build on Monday’s convincing victory.
First pitch is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. at home.
