The T.F. South girls swim team participated in the South Suburban Conference Championships this week, competing against strong programs including Homewood-Flossmoor, Eisenhower, Shepard, Kankakee, and Tinley Park.
According to reports, the meet took place at Homewood-Flossmoor High School on September 27th, where the host Vikings secured the team title with 314 points.
While T.F. South did not finish among the top five in overall scoring, the Red Wolves demonstrated steady progress across several events. The team’s performance was highlighted by strong relay participation and continued improvement in individual times. Swimmers gained valuable postseason experience competing against top regional athletes such as Shepard’s Mila Rocush, Tinley Park’s Ava Schultz, and Homewood-Flossmoor’s Katie Douglas—all of whom achieved gold-medal performances.
Homewood-Flossmoor led the field with five gold medals and a balanced effort in relays and distance events. Eisenhower and Shepard followed in second and third place respectively, while Tinley Park and Kankakee completed the top five standings.
For T.F. South, attention now turns to training and preparation for the upcoming sectional meets. The team aims to build on its conference experience and achieve new personal bests. T.F. South will return to competition later this month for sectional events.
