Thornton Fractional South’s boys basketball team concluded their postseason run with a 72-44 defeat against Bloom in the Illinois High School Association (IHSA) sectional semifinals held at Joliet Central High School on Wednesday night.
According to reports, the Red Wolves maintained competitiveness during the first half. However, Bloom gained control in the second half by capitalizing on TF South’s turnovers and inconsistent play. Despite the challenging loss, senior Rashad Peeples emerged as a standout player, leading his team with 18 points.
The season ended on a disappointing note for TF South, which concluded with a 13-20 record, falling short of preseason expectations. Head coach Todd Gillespie and his team are now focused on preparing for next season with hopes of delivering a stronger performance.
Gillespie expressed his commitment to improving the team’s future prospects as they look forward to upcoming challenges.
