TFS baseball head coach Amir Wright entered the season with a clear vision: to build a strong, cohesive team while instilling valuable life lessons in his players.

According to Wright, a lifelong baseball player, his passion for the game drives his coaching philosophy. “Baseball has shaped who I am,” he said. “Now, as a coach, I get to pass on those lessons—not just about the game, but about discipline, teamwork, and perseverance.”

With the season in prgress, Wright is eager to see the team grow both on and off the field. He emphasizes the importance of unity and leadership, especially with younger players stepping into bigger roles. “I’m excited to see these guys continue to come together,” he said. “Building that bond and confidence is just as important as preparing them to compete.”

One of Wright’s core coaching principles is controlling the controllables—attitude, energy, and effort. “If you show up every day with a positive mindset and maximum effort, success will follow,” he explained.

To strengthen team chemistry, Wright is prioritizing both on-field and off-field bonding through extra practice sessions, team meetings, and informal gatherings aimed at creating a supportive environment. “Communication and trust are key,” he noted. “When the team is connected, it translates to success on the field.”
