The Thornton Fractional South Red Wolves defeated the Lemont High School Lions 51-32 in a conference matchup.
The game occurred on Thursday, January 22, at Lemont High School. According to reports, Thornton Fractional South demonstrated strong defensive skills by accumulating 15 steals and limiting Lemont to a mere 25% shooting accuracy from the field. The Red Wolves also excelled in ball movement, recording 11 assists compared to their opponent’s nine. Despite being outperformed in rebounds, Thornton Fractional South maintained control over the game’s tempo and forced turnovers that resulted in transition opportunities. Lemont faced challenges in finding their rhythm from beyond the arc and at the free-throw line, achieving only 12% of their three-point attempts and converting 60% of their foul shots.
Looking ahead, Thornton Fractional South is set to host Hillcrest on Thursday, January 29. The Red Wolves currently hold a record of 22-2, while the Hillcrest Hawks stand at 21-5. In their previous encounter on January 30, 2025, Thornton Fractional South was defeated by Hillcrest with a score of 61–50 during an away conference matchup.
