Thornton Fractional United boys’ volleyball team achieved a significant victory on Monday night, defeating Bremen 2-1 in a South Suburban Conference (SSC) matchup.
According to the match details, the varsity team started strong in the opening set, winning 25-14 with effective serves and aggressive net play. Although Bremen managed to win the second set narrowly with a score of 25-21, Thornton Fractional United came back decisively in the third set with a commanding 25-9 win to secure the match.
With this victory, Thornton Fractional United improved their record to 5-6 in SSC conference play and 13-15 overall. The team’s energy, communication, and control at the net were pivotal in overcoming Bremen during the final set.
The junior varsity team was less fortunate, losing 2-0 with set scores of 25-17 and 25-15. Despite the loss, they demonstrated potential that suggests a promising future for the program.
