TF United’s postseason journey concluded on Wednesday night with a 3-0 defeat to Sandburg in the Illinois High School Association (IHSA) Regional Semifinal.
The match, held on October 22, 2025, saw Sandburg hosting under clear but chilly evening skies. According to reports, TF United goalkeeper Ismael Sanchez distinguished himself with seven saves, maintaining the team’s competitiveness against a persistent Sandburg offense. The Eagles dominated possession throughout the match and capitalized on key scoring opportunities to secure their shutout victory. Despite a determined effort from TF United’s defense, they were unable to penetrate Sandburg’s organized back line and high-pressure tactics.
Sandburg will advance to the regional final to face the winner of the opposing semifinal. Meanwhile, TF United concludes its season with an overall record of 9-10-1 and a conference record of 5-5-1. The team aims to build on this year’s progress as it focuses on offseason training and preparation for next year.
