Julian Hernandez and Rolando Hernandez led TF United’s boys tennis team to a narrow 2-3 defeat against Reavis High School on April 7. Despite the overall loss, the pair secured a notable victory in doubles play.
According to the head coach of TF United, despite the team’s second consecutive loss, the Hernandez duo provided a bright spot for TF United. They maintained their composure during a tight match and achieved their first win of the season in their doubles contest, setting a positive tone for upcoming matches.
“Rolando and Julian played their hearts out,” said the head coach. “When the match got tight, they kept their composure and prevailed.” The team is now 0-2 on the season, but this win by Julian and Rolando gives them something to build on as they prepare for their next match.
TF United will return to action on April 8 with an away game against Oak Lawn, where they hope to reverse their early-season struggles. The team continues to develop chemistry and improve its match play as the season progresses. The performance of the Hernandez brothers offers a promising glimpse into the potential of the team’s doubles lineup moving forward.
