Thornton Fractional United boys volleyball team improved their record to 4-4 with a decisive victory against Bloom High School on March 31, winning in straight sets.
According to the match details, Junior Yahir Silva led the TFU squad with nine kills and three aces. His performance at the net was pivotal in setting an early tone for the game, and his consistency remained crucial throughout.
Senior Luis Hernandez also played a significant role in the victory, contributing six kills and five aces. Together, Silva and Hernandez provided a dominant offensive display that Bloom High School found difficult to counter.
“The team is starting to gel and we have started the season off on a positive note,” head coach Misch said. “We’re continuing to build chemistry and develop rhythm on the court.”
The victory marks TF United’s second consecutive win, suggesting they are gaining momentum after a challenging start to the season. The team is set to face Crete-Monee High School next at home, with the match scheduled at TF North High School. They aim to surpass a .500 record for the first time this season as conference play intensifies in April.
