Thornton Fractional South was defeated 5-0 by Tinley Park in a nonconference girls’ tennis match on Friday afternoon.
The match occurred on October 10 at Tinley Park High School. The Red Wolves displayed determination and teamwork against their strong opponents.
According to the match results, at No. 1 singles, Ava Nunez battled through a competitive second set before falling 6-1, 7-6 to Tinley Park’s Elena Livsey. Sabrina Rodriguez showed resilience at No. 2 singles but came up short with a score of 6-0, 6-1 against Keira Zamudio. In doubles action, Anylah Brown and Ivory Carter played aggressively at the top spot before losing 6-0, 6-1. Hailey Matlock and Liz Carla Ndamou remained composed in their No. 2 match but fell 6-0, 6-0, while Olivia Hall and Kaylee Cannon competed hard at No. 3, dropping a 6-0, 6-1 decision. Despite the sweep, the Red Wolves’ energy and effort never wavered.
The last encounter between these two teams also resulted in a 5-0 victory for Tinley Park over Thornton Fractional South.
