The Thornton Fractional United (TFU) boys volleyball team faced a challenging home match against Shepard, ultimately succumbing to the visitors in three sets.
According to TFU’s record, they have a 4-6 conference standing and a 12-15 overall performance. Despite their efforts, they were unable to overcome Shepard’s strong offense and defense. In the varsity contest, TFU initially claimed victory in the first set with a score of 25-19 but subsequently lost the next two sets. Shepard secured the second set 25-22 and concluded the third set 25-17, winning the match 2-1.
“We had a strong start but couldn’t maintain the momentum,” said the TFU coach. “We need to work on our consistency and finish games better moving forward.” The junior varsity match also demonstrated Shepard’s dominance as they won in straight sets with scores of 25-14 and 25-16.
Despite this setback, TFU remains focused on improvement as they prepare for future challenges. “We’re not backing down,” said the team’s captain. “We know what we need to work on, and we’ll keep pushing until the end of the season.” TFU’s next matchup is scheduled for later this week.
