Thornton Fractional United (TFU) boys volleyball team celebrated Senior Night with a 2-0 victory over Blue Island Eisenhower on March 19.

According to the match statistics, TFU improved their record to 8-12 overall and 4-6 in conference play. Meanwhile, Eisenhower continued their challenging season with a tenth consecutive loss, holding a 3-16 overall and 1-9 conference record.

The first set was tightly contested. TFU narrowly won 26-24 after a critical kill by Junior Outside Hitter Julius Jackson tied the score for Eisenhower at 23-23. Junior Setter Yahir Silva’s strong serve and Junior Middle Hitter Khaden Doss’s decisive kill secured the set for TFU.

In the second set, TFU demonstrated dominance. Early leads by Silva and Outside Hitter Eartis Booth helped build momentum, culminating in a commanding 25-10 win. Booth’s quick reflexes and powerful serves, combined with Silva’s five consecutive serves—including a final ace—sealed the victory.

Coach Misch praised key players and expressed optimism for upcoming matches. In contrast, Eisenhower Coach Amanda DeLaCasa acknowledged her team’s mental challenges but remained hopeful for playoff success. TFU now looks ahead to face Rich Township and top-ranked Homewood Flossmoor.
