The Thornton Fractional United boys tennis team earned a strong second-place finish at the Homewood-Flossmoor Invitational on Saturday, April 12.
Host team Homewood-Flossmoor claimed first place in the multi-team competition, but TF United secured key victories over Crete-Monee and Oak Lawn to lock in the runner-up spot. The team showed solid performances across singles and doubles matches, displaying depth and consistency throughout the day.
TF United head coach praised the athletes for their focus and determination during a competitive field of play.
“We came in ready to compete,” the coach said. “Beating Crete and Oak Lawn shows the progress our players have made this season.”
The tournament serves as a mid-season benchmark for the team, which continues to prepare for conference and sectional play. TF United looks to build on this momentum as they move forward into the final stretch of the spring tennis season.
