The Thornton Fractional South cross country teams delivered commendable performances at the 7th Oak Forest Mad Dash, achieving top-10 finishes in both the boys’ and girls’ categories. The event took place on October 11, 2025, at Oak Forest High School in Oak Forest, Illinois, gathering several competitive programs from the region for this annual fall showcase.
According to the results, Ricky Budlove led the boys’ varsity team with a fifth-place finish, clocking in at 16:42.46. Alonzo Magana secured first place in the junior varsity (JV) boys’ race with a time of 18:02.69. His teammates Jayden Ruiz and Xavier Ruiz followed closely behind with times of 18:09.12 and 18:17.94 respectively, contributing to a strong team performance.
On the girls’ side, De’Shanti Lewis finished seventh in the JV race with a time of 23:30.09. Dakodia Kelly and Dmetria Oneal also earned top-20 finishes with times of 24:17.76 and 25:27.62 respectively.
Thornton Fractional South is set to compete in regional competition next weekend as they aim to build on their current momentum heading into postseason racing.
Last year’s participation in the Oak Forest Mad Dash demonstrated solid growth for Thornton Fractional South, and this year’s results underscore the Red Wolves’ continued progress and depth across both squads.
