Thornton Fractional South’s boys and girls cross country teams delivered commendable performances at the Reavis Quad Meet, competing against St. Laurence, Eisenhower, and Crete-Monee. The Red Wolves showcased balanced efforts across both divisions.
The meet occurred on September 30, 2025, at Reavis High School in Burbank, Illinois.
For the boys’ team, senior Ricky Budlove led the Red Wolves by finishing fifth overall with a time of 19:18.00. Teammate Jayden Ruiz closely followed in eighth place with a time of 19:32.00. John Carson, Julius Navarro, and Evan Krueger completed the scoring pack for Thornton Fractional South (TFS). Their close grouping contributed to a strong team performance among conference rivals.
According to the event details, on the girls’ side, Yanitzia Luna set the pace for TFS by placing 14th with a time of 25:07.00. Dakodia Kelly finished in 21st place and Chiyah Bell in 24th place, providing depth in the middle of the lineup. Heidy Calderon and Jaylene Carrasco concluded the scoring effort with consistent times that helped TFS finish competitively.
Looking ahead, Thornton Fractional South will compete in the South Suburban Blue Conference Championship on October 10 at Midlo Park at 9 a.m. The Red Wolves last faced Eisenhower at the 2024 SSC meet, where they edged out the Cardinals for fourth place.
