The Thornton Fractional South boys' tennis team faced a challenging match on Monday afternoon, resulting in a 5-0 home loss to Bradley-Bourbonnais. Despite the outcome, the Red Wolves demonstrated determination and potential throughout the contest.
According to the match details, at No. 1 singles, junior Ife Fashoranti exhibited strong court coverage and endurance during extended rallies before losing to Bradley’s Isaiah Sharda with scores of 6-1, 6-0. Gabriel Morales competed at No. 2 singles, engaging in a competitive first set but ultimately succumbing to Mason Greer with scores of 6-3, 6-0.
In doubles play, T.F. South showed signs of improving chemistry. The No. 1 doubles team, Jacob Wieck and Jeffery Hudson, maintained an aggressive approach at the net and attempted to control points early in their match but were defeated with scores of 6-2, 6-3. At No. 2 doubles, Aidan Jordan and Fabian Rodriguez worked hard to extend points and keep games close despite a final score of 6-2, 6-0.
Jordan returned for the No. 3 doubles match alongside Alexander Moreno. The pair displayed strong communication and energy but eventually fell to Bradley’s duo of Quinn Meadows and Justus Jaeger with scores of 6-3, 6-0.
