The Thornton Fractional United boys tennis team is navigating early challenges this season, with particular growth noted in their doubles play as they aim to recover from an 0-3 start.

In a recent match against Oak Lawn, which resulted in a 2-5 loss, TF United's doubles teams delivered noteworthy performances. According to the match report, Julian Hernandez and Rolando Hernandez at third doubles exhibited strong coordination and effective positioning. Meanwhile, Alex Moreno and Aiden Kleidon at second doubles demonstrated commendable net play and consistency against a formidable Oak Lawn duo.

"Despite the cold weather, we were able to play—got to love springtime in Chicagoland," said head coach Matt Jancich. He added that "both doubles teams are using solid fundamentals to dominate their opponents."

Jancich acknowledged that while overall team victories have been hard to come by, the progress of TF United’s doubles squads provides a solid base for future success. With this momentum, the team hopes to channel their competitive spirit into their next match against Eisenhower.

As the season advances, TF United remains focused on improving their performance, with enhanced doubles play potentially serving as a pivotal factor in achieving this goal.
