Thornton Fractional South's softball team faced a challenging match on Thursday, succumbing to a 15-0 defeat in four innings against Evergreen Park.
According to head coach Dave Klupchak, the Red Wolves were no-hit and struck out five times during the one-sided road loss. Despite the outcome, Klupchak found positives in his team's defensive effort. "Defense played much better and we are improving with each game," he said. "We need to create some offense."
Evergreen Park took an early lead and maintained pressure throughout the game, leading to an early conclusion via the mercy rule after four innings. T.F. South struggled offensively, failing to secure a hit or advance a runner past first base.
The Red Wolves will return to action on Friday with another road game at Stagg High School. Klupchak and his team hope to build on their defensive improvements while focusing on generating momentum at the plate. T.F. South continues to navigate early-season challenges as they seek to find their rhythm in South Suburban Conference play and beyond.
